The Young Republican National Federation called for immediate resignations Following a Politico report about a leaked group chat This led to racist, anti-Semitic and violent discussions.
“We are struck by the vile and deplorable language expressed in the Politicalo movement’s article published today,” the board of the Young Republican National Federation said in a statement Post on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Those involved must immediately resign from all positions within their state and local young Republican organizations.”
The messages, obtained by Politico, spanned more than seventeen months and were part of a conversation between young Republican leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont.
Members of the Telegram chat group titled “Restoreyr War Room” referred to Black people as “monkeys” and “watermelon people,” according to the Politico report published Tuesday. They also ruled out fondling political rivals in gas chambers and sexually assaulting opponents in the chat, as Politicalo reports.
According to the report, the chat also included racial slurs and reports of rape being “epic.”
A White House official told Politico that the White House has no connection to the group chat and that hundreds of groups are asking the White House for approval.
The Politico report also comes at a time of intense discussion about political violence as President Trump.
